Mesothelioma Causes

Asbestos fibers are the main cause of mesothelioma. They are microscopic, can not be seen by human eyes and when they are ingested or inhaled unnoticed. Asbestos fibers are given off by asbestos products that have deteriorated and become "brittle,"meaning that they are easily destroyed - at which point the fibers can be air in a cloud of dust. In thousands of industrial sites and workshops where asbestos insulation or other products used, workers inhaling asbestos fibers on the job - sometimes every day.

When asbestos fibers are inhaled or ingested, the human body can not expel them through natural means such as coughing, sneezing or other physiological functions. Fibers remain in the body, eventually embedding itself in the network, in many cases that the network is the mesothelium. Asbestos fibers remain in the body forever, eventually they start to cause problems with network mesothelium. They can cause abnormal cells to develop and the cells begin to proliferate uncontrollably. Often they are cancer cells, which begin to form tumors spread that characterizes most cases of mesothelioma
